With interest in the Baltic Region at an all time high, Stockholm has developed the infrastructure required to operate turnarounds in order to serve the cruise vessels that turn here more effectively.  The Cruise Terminal, opened in 2008, has been well received by thousands of guests who chose to begin or end their cruise in Stockholm.

There is a common misunderstanding that Stockholm does not have a sufficient air capacity, especially in comparison with other major hubs in Europe. However, when comparing Stockholm with Copenhagen, Stockholm has more or less the same air lift capacity as the Danish capital, to and from, for instance, the US. The Arlanda International Airport, with its 85 airlines and 179 destinations around the world, also has a very good ground transportation service to and from the Stockholm region, which facilitates a smooth arrival and departure to or from the airport. Every year more than 18 million travelers chose to fly to/from Arlanda Airport. The Arlanda Airport is a very modern airport with 3 runways and 4 terminals offering more than 50 conference rooms, several hotels, VIP-lounge and the Sky City shopping mall, with restaurant, shops and even a wedding chapel.
